The official National Delegate of the UEMS Section of Laboratory Medicine/Medical Biopathology, either polyvalent or monovalent, must be a specialist doctor with a working knowledge of English language, denominated by the National Medical Association of his country. Once appointed, he has to attend the biannual meetings of the Section and he will be in charge of supporting the various activities, which aim to guarantee the highest standards of care in the field of the specialty of Laboratory Medicine, including the divisions for General Laboratory Medicine, as well as the monovalent divisions for Clinical Biochemistry, Clinical Immunology, Clinical Haematology and Transfusion Medicine, and Genetics, in the countries of the European Union and Europe in general, by ensuring that the medical specialist training is raised to the highest possible level.
